The prizes will be awarded according to the unanimous decision of the jury and will be based exclusively on the individual characteristics and creativity of the entries. No prizes will be awarded by lot.
The participants will send an original body of work (between 4 and 12 images) to develop the theme Roots - portraits of identity.
The work may be colour or black and white. The participants will be able to submit digital files with a width of at least 2000 pixels and with a resolution of 100 dpi.
It is very important that the digital files are renamed as follows:
SURNAME_ FAMILY NAME (initial only)_NUMBER OF THE IMAGE IN THE SEQUENCE
(ex. SMITH_A_001 and so on).
If it is impossible to send digital files, you may send prints that will be scanned. The prints must be between 13x19cm and 24x36cm on photographic paper, specifying the photographer's first and last name and address written on the back.

The Entry Form must be fully filled out, signed by the artist and submitted together with the images. The partecipants will be able to have their work returned if a self-addressed, not-stamped envelope of the appropriate dimensions to fit the images is sent. Participation to the contest is free of charge and open to everyone, non Italian residents and foreigners are welcomed. The judges will announce the 20 chosen finalists by May 31th 2008, among whom 5 will be selected as winners.
The 20 finalists will be contacted and agree to provide a high definition copy of the image for the final exhibition, which will be during the WINEPHOTO Festival 2008 and the awarding, which will take place the 08th June 2008 in Viilla Braida, during the WINEDAY 2008 in Mogliano Veneto (TV).
The photos of the 20 selected finalists will be exhibited (one body of work per photographer shown) printed on panels, at the expense of the Organization. Failure to submit the selected image for the final exhibition will result in automatic disqualification. All participants will have to grant explicit consent – in the event that their image is selected – to the use of their image by exhibition’s sponsors and for all advertisements solely connected to the competition, without recompense to the photographer nor to any third parties. Participation in the contest requires that the author is in possession of the release of the subject photographed to use his/her image, in any form, for the use of which he/she will assume full responsibility.
All rights to the images, however, will remain property of the participants.
